Some 13 Indian fishermen were arrested along with a fishing trawler from the Bay of Bengal near Sundarban forest on the charge of illegal intrusion in the water territory of Bangladesh and catching fish from there.
On Wednesday noon when the Indian fishermen were catching fish in the Bay of Bengal near the Fair Buoy, 85 -kilometre away from Mongla Sea Por, a contingent of Navy arrested them along with a fishing trawler named FB. Abir and later they were brought to Mongla (Digraj) Naval Base . They were handed over to Mongla PS on Thursday evening.
ASI Manjur Elahi of Mongla PS disclosed that with the reference of Bangladesh Navy on Wednesday noon when a contingent of Navy was discharging their patrol duty in the Bay of Bengal by BNS Ship Padma found a feign fishing trawler is catching fish within the water territory of Bangladesh.
Later, Navy personnel arrested Indian fishermen along with fishing trawler on the charge of illegal intrusion in the water territory of Bangladesh
Previously 42 Indian fishermen were arrested along with 3 fishing trawlers by the members of Bangladesh Navy thrice from the same place.
Cases were lodged with Mongla PS against them on the charge of illegal intrusion in the waster territory of Bangladesh and catching fish from there.
Later they were sent to Bagerhat jail hajat.
