The 12th National Billiards Championship will begin tomorrow (Saturday) at Gulshan Club premises after a long gap of seven years.
A total of 36 players from eight clubs, including defending champions, will take part in the weeklong competition organised by Gulshan Club Limited.
A prize money of Tk 70,000 will be awarded to the winners in addition to trophies.
The details of the championship were disclosed at a press conference at Rajanigandha Hall of Gulshan Club Wednesday noon.
President of Gulshan Club Sakhawat Abu Khair Mohammed, General Secretary of Bangladesh billiards and Snooker Federation Syed Mahbub,
Convenor of Gulshan Club Billiards and Snooker Sub-Committee Aziz Al-Masud, Chief Co-ordinator of the tournament Sultan Moyeen Ahmed Robin were present at the press conference.
Addressing the pressmen, Syed Mahbub said national billiards championship is going to kick-off after 2008. The tournament will start from April 15 and conclude on April 21.
Partex Group, Partex Paper, Amber Paper, Robintex and Leather Emporium is sponsoring the tournament alongside Taif Bin Yusuf and Sabbir Islam.
