At least six vehicles were set on fire in different parts of the capital during the countywide indefinitetransport blockade on Wednesday.Sources at the Fire Service and Civil Defence control room said a bus of ‘Bandhan Paribahan’ was set afire near Gulistan Cinema Hall around 1pm.Miscreants set fire to a microbus at Asadgate in Dhanmondi area in the afternoon.Meanwhile, a bus was set ablaze in Mirpur Rinekhola area around 2 pm while another in the same area at about 4:15 pm.A bus was torched at Signboard area under Demra police station at about 6:20 pm while another at Nilkhet area at the same time.However, no casualty was reported in the arson attacks.The 9th day of the countywide non-stop transport blockade, enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance, passed off amid incidents of violence, leaving five people dead in Rangpur and Chittagong districts.Our Kishoreganj Correspondent adds: At least four vehicles were torched at Kuliarchar upazila in Kishoreganj district on Wednesday evening during the on-going countrywide blockade of the BNP-led 20-party alliance. According to eyewitnesses, the blockade supporters, who are mainly Jamaat-Shibir activists, torched three trucks and a covered van at Dariakandi area on Kishoreganj-Bhairab road in the upazila. Meanwhile, five crude bombs were exploded in Kishoreganj district town in the evening. The bombs were blasted at Akrampur area in the district town.
