Chittagong Bureau :
Police rescued 12 people at Salimpur area in Sitakunda upazila early Sunday while being trafficked to Malaysia.
Police arrested one named Sona Miah, 26, in this connection.
Sergeant Md Kabir Hossain of Sitakunda Faujdarhat Police Station said, acting on a tip-off, a police team conducted a drive at a house in the area around 2am and rescued 12 people when they were preparing to go to Malaysia.
The rescued people are from–Sirajganj, Jessore, Jhenidah, Bogra and Satkania upazila of Chittagong.
