At least 12 suspected militants were detained by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in the city’s Mirpur area on Tuesday afternoon.
The RAB members also seized a foreign pistol, 15 machetes and 40 mobile phone sets from their possession.
The identities of the arrested persons could not be known instantly, RAB official said.
Mufti Mahmud Khan, Director of Legal and Media Wing of the elite force, said that RAB team raided a house on the Mazar Road, Mirpur Section-1 in the afternoon and arrested them.
The arrested men might have militancy connection, the RAB official said.
They are being interrogated in this connection, he said.
Filing of a case in this regard is under process, the elite force official said.
