Hotapara outpost police of Joydebpur Police Station have arrested 12 members of a gang of car robbery along with parts of 5 different types of vehicles. They were detained from Sonia Enterprise (workshop) owned by Saiful Islam in Bhabanipur area of Joydebpur Police Station on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway on Tuesday midnight. Sub-Inspector (SI) of Hotapara Police Outpost Rakibul Islam filed a case against the arrested persons at Joydebpur Police Station on Wednesday (June 29) night. Later, the police sent the arrested persons to Gazipur court at 11:30 am on Thursday. Officer-in-charge (OC) of Joydebpur Police Station Mahtab Uddin confirmed the matter at 9am on Thursday.
The arrested are Saiful Islam, 60, son of Mohammad Ali of Bhabanipur village under Joydebpur police station, Alam Bhuiyan, 45, son of late Laich Bhuiyan, Rubel, 32, son of Shamsul Haque of Nayapara Bhabanipur (Begumpur) village, Haque, 20, son of Abdul Kalam of Nanduhar village in Swarupkathi upazila of Pirojpur, Sajib Mallick, 20, son of Alamgir Mallick of Khaserhat village in Muladi upazila of Barisal and Bidhan Kuri, 35, son of late Arun Chandra Kuri of Danialpur village under Habiganj district police station. Masud Mia, 28, son of late Muharram Ali of Jahangir Nagar village under Sadar police station, Shahid, 35, son of late Abdur Rashid of Chaupur village under Muradnagar upazila of Comilla, Johnny Mia, 23, son of Alal Uddin of Dohalia village under Nalitabari upazila of Sherpur and Bir Nandnapar of Islampur upazila of Jamalpur. Sumon Mandal, 29, son of late Fain Mandal, and Ramzan Mia, 19, son of Abul Hashem of Putika village in Purbadhala upazila of Netrokona. They used to snatch houses from different areas of Gazipur.
