Chittagong Bureau :
Chittagong City Corporation (CCC ) awarded 12 intellectuals of Chittagong for contributing special role in respective fields .
These intellectuals include 7 personalities awarded with Ekhushey Honourary Award and 5 literateurs were given Literacy Award.
Minister for Housing and Public Works Engr. Mosharaf Hossain handed over these honourary awards at a function arranged on occasion of International mother language day at Muslim Hall premises on Friday last.
The recipients of the award are- ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury, Abdullah al Noman for politcal career, Abul Momen for objective journalism, Sufi Mizanur Rahman for role in business and trade, Ali Abbas, for sports career, Abu Taher for social welfare, and Abdul Mabud Sowdagar for education .on the other hand, Swapan Dutta, Ferdous Ara,Fahmida Amin, Mohibul Aziz and Md. Nasiruddin were given literary award . City Mayor M Manzoor Alam presided over the award distributing ceremony .
