12 held for unfairmeans in DU `Ka` Unit intake test

Dhaka University authorities caught red-handed 12 admission seekers for adopting unfair means during the Science Faculty admission test (Ka unit) for the first year honours.
University Proctor M Amzad Ali said that invigilators caught them from different centers when they were receiving answers from the tiny plug in their ears and master card like electronic device in their pockets.
The detainees identified as Imran and Arif were picked up from business faculty center of the
university, Shah Poran from Udayan School, Abul Bashar and Nahid Hossain from Borhanuddin College, Tanvir and Jakir from Ahmed Bawany Academy, Rakibul and Mirazul from Motijheel Ideal School and College, Noman from Motahar Hossain center of the university, Shoumika Protichi from Motijheel government Girls High School and Arifa Billah Tamanna from Lalmatia College.
All of them primarily confessed to have paid Tk two lakh to Tk three lakh for getting answers during the tests, the proctor added.
The Proctor also claimed that the admission test was held in a peaceful manner and the perpetrators failed to leak the question papers.
Later, A Mobile court sentenced the guilty students to 15 days imprisonment each for fraudulence activities.
The Proctor, however, indecently objected to when the cameraperson of a television channel was trying to take footage of the detainees.
The one and half-hour test was held between 10:00am and 11:30am in 87 centers inside and outside the campus where a total of 89,506 students sat for 1,765 seats.
