12 employees of CDA reinstated with HC orders

Chattogram Bureau :

 Twelve employees of Chattogram Development Authority (CDA) have been reinstated in the services following the orders of the higher court.
 These employees were sacked after completion of the project works at Annayna Residential area.
 Higher court in a judgement on July 18 last asked the CDA to reinstate in vacant posts of the authority immediately.
The sacked employees include two Asstt. Engineers, 6 Sub -Asstt. Engineers, 2 surveyors and office assistant . These reinstated officials will enjoy all facilities of the CDA as per existing rules in respective posts.
ACC quizzes 12 CU officials: Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Monday quizzed 12 officials of Chittagong University (CU) at its Chattogram office in a corruption case over irregularities in recruitment of employees at the university.  
Assistant Director (AD) Fakhrul Islam of Chattogram Integrated Office-1 of ACC told journalists “We quizzed the officials as part of our investigation. We will question some more officials and record their statements on August 22.”
Mentionable, a person lodged a complaint with ACC over irregularities in recruiting 142 employees at the university couple of months ago during former vice chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury’s tenure.
On July 23, taking the compliant into their cognizance, ACC asked the 46 persons including CU Registrar KM Nur Ahmed, then CU Proctor Ali Asgar Chowhdury, Assistant Proctor Litan Mitra, and Social Science Faculty Dean Prof Farid Uddin Ahmed to appear before ACC’s Chattogram-1 office.
