The eleventh founding anniversary of the Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology (CUET) was observed on Saturday last.
Vice Chancellor of CUET Prof Dr.Rafiqul Alam inaugurated the anniversary function by cutting cake at west gallelry of the university as chief guest. In connection, a colourful rally was brought out from CUET Shaheed Minar square which paraded the campus area and terminated at main intersection of the university. Among others, Prof.Ranjit Kumar sutradhar, Prof. Kawshik dev, Prof. Abdur Rahman Bhuyia, Prof. Sajal Chandra Banik, Registrar Dr Farukuzzaman Chowdhury and Director of Students Welfare Dr. Masiul Hoque participated the rally , sources said.
Later, a discussion meeting duly presided by its President Md. Injamamul Hoque was held with General secretary Nazmul Hoque as moderator.Sources said journey of CUETJA began on December 16, 2006. Inp the discussion meet, the speakers paid rich tributes to the great sons of the soil those sacrificed their valuable lives for liberation of Bangaldesh.
