Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested a young man along with 500 pieces of Yaba
tablets from in front of Pathshala Academy at Chairmanpara in Nachole
upazila on Sunday.
The arrested was identified as Abdur Rahim, 30, son of Lutfar Rahman , hailing from Zahanabad village of Godagari upazila in Rajshahi district.
Chapainawabganj Rab-5 commander Maj Kamruzzaman Pavel said on a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a drive in the area and arrested Rahim around 12:30pm. They also recovered 200 pieces of Yaba tablets from him.
BSS from Joypurhat adds: Detective Branch (DB) of police in a drive arrested an alleged drug peddler and recovered 600 pieces of yaba tablets from Amtoly area in the district town last night.
The arrested person was Jahurul Islam, 42, son of late Golam Nabi of Faridpur village under Godagari upazila in Rajshahi.
On a tip-off, a team of DB police conducted the drive in the area and arrested Jahurul with the tablets, DB police sources said.
