Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain has constituted 11 High Court (HC) Benches with its 17 judges for disposing of cases during the ongoing annual vacation.
The 45-day vacation of the High Court and Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) began from Friday (August 30).
The Chief Justice also assigned Justice Hasan Foez Siddique and Justice Md Nuruzzaman, two judges of the Appellate
Division, to run the Chamber Courts during the vacation, SC spokesman Mohammad Saifur Rahman said.
Of the 11 HC Benches, six are two-member (Division) Benches and five are of one-member (single) Bench.
According to a notice issued by the SC administration on its website on Thursday, most of holiday courts will operate from 10:30 am to 1:15 pm on weekdays.
The number of HC judges is now 92. Among them, three are dealing with the war crimes cases tried by the International Crimes Tribunal-1.
