105 tonnes relief goods handed over to Sri Lanka

Following the directives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh Navy Ship “BNS Bangabandhu” on Sunday reached Colombo in Sri Lanka with 105 tonnes of emergency relief materials for the victims of the recent floods and landslides.
Bangladesh High Commissioner in Colombo M Tarik Ahsan formally handed over the goods to the Secretary of Disaster Management Ministry of Sri Lanka SS Miyanawala, an ISPR press release said on Monday.
The relief materials, include pure water, water purifiers, life saving medicines, clothes, tents and power generators.
At least 19 districts, out of 25, in Sri Lanka were seriously affected by flood and landslides as cyclonic storm Roanu hit the country on May 19 before crossing eastern coast of India, Bangladesh and Myanmar.
