1,000 flood-hit families get relief in Joypurhat , Rangpur

Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) yesterday distributed relief materials among 250 flood-hit families at a ceremony held on Laksmitari union parishad premises under Gangachara upazila of the district.
The RCCI leaders distributed four-kg rice, 500-gram lentil, 500-gram salt, 500-gram soybean oil, 1.50-kg flattened rice, 250-gram molasses, four packets oral saline, 500-gram puffed rice and one gas lighter among each of the flood-hit families.
Presided over by Laksmitari union Chairman Abdullah Al Hadi, Senior Vice- president of RCCI Mostoba Hossain Ripan attended the function and distributed relief goods as the chief guest.
Directors of RCCI Habibur Rahman Raja, Ajay Prashad Babon, Khemchand Somani Rabi, Pronoy Banik, among others, were present.
On the occasion, Mostoba Hossain Ripan said RCCI distributed relief materials among flood-affected people of Gangachara upazila under its corporate social responsibly programme to stand by them and reduce their sufferings.
BSS from Joypurhat reports: A total of 750 flood-affected families of Sadar and Khetlal upazila of the district received relief materials yesterday. Local MP Advocate Shamsul Alam Dudu distributed the relief rice among the flood hit people. Each of the beneficiaries got 10 kgs of rice. Awami League district unit also distributed high yielding paddy seeds among 200 farmers in Khetlal upazila.
Shamsul Alam said the government has taken different programmes to rehabilitate the farmers and Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) is distributing Aman and vegetable seeds among the flood affected farmers in five upazilas of the district.
