100 more poor families to get houses in Rangunia

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will hand over houses built in the second phase to landless and homeless families in Rangunia as a gift of Mujib Year. He will join the video conference on June 20 and hand over 100 more houses in South Ghatchek village of Rangunia Pourasava. Chittagong Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Kamrul Hasan visited Ghatchek village on Saturday (June 12) to see the construction activities and preparations of these houses. Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mominur Rahman, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Masudur Rahman and others were present.
Upazila Executive Officer said. “No one will be homeless and landless in the year of Mujib Borsha.” In the first phase, 75 families got houses with 2 percent land. In the second phase, 100 families have been given houses with land. It is learned that construction of houses has been completed in Rangunia Pourasava, Betagi Union, Rajanagar, Kodala, Shilak, Sarafvata, Pomra Union. These two-room homes have kitchens and toilets. Tubewell and electricity connection has been provided. Asrayan-2 project director of the Prime Minister’s Office, Mahbub Hossain said that in the first phase, 1 lakh 75 thousand rupees was taken for each house including transportation cost. This time it has been increased from 1 lakh 95 thousand taka to 1 lakh 98 thousand taka.
