100 BD men to be evacuated from Yemen

Bangladesh and India held a coordination meeting in African country Djibouti on Sunday night as part of the ongoing evacuation process of their nationals from war-torn Yemen.
Indian Minister of State (External Affairs) Gen VK Singh held the meeting with Bangladesh officials, Indian High Commission in Dhaka tweeted on Monday.
Shahriar in a Facebook post early Monday said some 14 Bangladeshi reported near Al Mukalla of Yemen. “We’ve advised them to use the Oman border near Salalah.”
After his meeting with Oman counterpart on Sunday, Shariar said, the government of Oman agreed to help bring Bangladeshis back from Yemen through their border.
“We’re also expecting over 100 Bangladeshi using Al Hudaydah (Yemen city) with the help from Indian Navy,” he wrote.
The State Minister also mentioned that they are seeking permission for Biman to fly to either Djibouti or Sana’a.
Earlier, Bangladesh decided to use the option of bringing its nationals from Sana’a, the capital of Yemen, through air apart from other available means.
“We’re working to arrange aircraft for Sana’a. Biman is to arrange necessary clearance,” he wrote in a Facebook post.
Meanwhile, Indian External Affairs Ministry said more than 800 Indian nationals have so far returned home following their efforts. It also said over 200 citizens from 25 countries are going to their homes in other lands.
Earlier, an Indian ship rescued three Bangladeshis from Al Hudaydah, a city of Yemen near its capital Sana’a.
The rescued Bangladeshis are now in Djibouti, an African country, and will be brought back home by air soon.
A Bangladesh team from its mission in Kuwait is now in Djibouti and so far communicated with Bangladesh nationals in two cities-Aden and Sana’a in Yemen, according to an official at the Foreign Ministry here.
