A gang of unidentified dacoits on Sunday night looted ten sacrificial cows from ‘Akashi Agro Industry Dairy Farm’ by killing its two guards at Charbila village in Mymensingh.
Police recovered bodies of Idris Ali, 32, and Mojaffar Hossain Moja, 30, at nearby of the farm, said Nure Alam, Superintendent of Police (SP) of Mymensingh.
The body of Idris was found in a water body while Mojaffar’s body spotted by locals on Monday morning at a nearby orchard, the SP said. We found several injury marks on the bodies, the police official said. Police assumes that robbers fled away with the ten cows after killing the two people, the SP said. Police have launched an investigation, said Mymensingh Sadar Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Quamrul Islam.
The robbers might have taken the bulls by a truck to Sherpur district, the OC said.
“We are trying to arrest the dacoits,” the OC said.
The bodies were sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for autopsy, he said. Idris began working at the farm about four months ago, said the farm’s Manager Harun Ur Rashid.
He believes Idris was killed because he had recognised the dacoits.
“They made off with the ten 10 cows. The market value of the cows is around Tk 800,000,” he said.
