Ten mayor candidates n out of 12 aspirants in the recently held CCC mayor polls lost their deposits . In the mayoral race , 12 aspirants contested including AL and BNP supported candidates.
Only two candidates viz. AJM Nasir and Manzoor Alam will get back their election deposits as they secured huge votes than the limitations.
According to local govt election rules-2010 , out of total casting votes, if any one secure one eighth , his deposit will get back otherwise will be forfeited. And hence, except AJM Nasir and Manzoor Alam , all 10 candidates will lose their election deposit money. Those lost their deposit money are – Solaiman Alam seth, MA Matin, Arif Moinuddin, Safiul Alam, Abul Kalam, Alauddin chy, Wajed Hossain, Saifuddin Ahmed, Syed Sajjad and Mujibul Hoque sukkir.
