10 killed in road crashes

At least 10 persons including four bikers and two women were killed and several others injured in separate road crashes across the country on Thursday.
In Kishoreganj, at least three motorcyclists were killed when they got squeezed between a truck and a three-wheeler in Pirijpur area under Bajitpur upazila of the district on Thursday.
The accident took place on the Kishoreganj – Bhairab regional road around 1pm.
The victims were identified as Rakib, 19, son of one Habib Mia from Middle Pirijpur area of Bajitpur upazila, Noor Amin, 17, son of one Nidhu Mia of the same area, and Nayan, son of one Abul Kalam, 20, from Matlabpur area under Sadar upazila.
Jahangir, Sub-Inspector of Bajitpur Police Station confirmed the news to the media and said that, on information, police reached the spot and took the bodies to the police station,
In Tangail, at least two women were killed and another injured when a human hauler (locally known as Votvoti) rammed them in Dakkhin Ghagra area of Nagorpur upazila of the district on Thursday morning.
The victims were identified as Ujala Begum, 50, from Pakutia union of the upazila and Shefali Begum, 40, from Saturia upazila in Manikganj.
Nagorpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Alam Chand confirmed the matter to the media.
In Dhaka, an unidentified man was killed after being squeezed between two buses in Tejgaon Industrial Area of the city on Thursday.
 The accident took place when the victim was crossing the road at around 6:30 am, said Shah Alam, Sub-Inspector of the local police station. He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) with serious injury, but duty doctors declared him dead at 7:15 am.
In Gopalganj, a motorcycle plunged into a canal in Muksudpur upazila of the district on Thursday morning, leaving the biker dead on the spot.
The deceased was identified as Sumon Devnath, 35, son of one Sudhir Debnath of Fulbaria village.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Gopalganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
In Kushtia, a truck driver named Sujan, 32, was killed and two others seriously injured when a truck hit another truck in Laksmipur area of Kushtia sadar on Thursday morning.
In Sirajganj, an unknown person, was killed when a pickup van rammed him on the Bangabandhu Bridge on Thursday morning.
Syed Shahid Alam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bangabandhu Bridge (West Zone) Police Station said.
