At least 10 activists of Islamic University unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League with its general secretary were injured in a clash between two groups of its BCL unit on Monday midnight focused on domination on the campus.
The injured BCL activists are- Sumon Kumar of finance and banking department, Rahat Al Rimon of Public Administration department, Mosarraf Hossain Neel, Nishat and Opurbo of English department, Sajibon of biotechnology department, IU Journalists Association president Emran Shuvro and Press Club president Ferdausur Rahman Shohag of the university.
On Monday last night, a group of activists loyal to IU BCL general secretary M Rakibul Islam Rakib went to the room of Mosharraf Hossain Neel in Saddam Hossen Hall while having dinner, who are loyal to IU BCL antagonist group of its unit beaten by them.
Later, Neel informed the incidents to his group and immediately the antagonist group led by Alamgir Hossain Alo came to the spot and a scuffle was held here with IU BCL secretary group in front of the Saddam Hossain Hall while occurring 10 injured with two serious.
IU student’s adviser Prof Dr Paresh Chandra Barman and proctorial body came to the spot and brought the situation under control.
