1.5 lakh Yabas recovered within three days, 2 held

Detective branch police of CMP rounded up two drug peddlers along with 6000 yaba tablets from Bakalia area in front of Teachers Training College gate of Noor Bhaban on Saturday night. Police recovered 6000 Yabas from their possession. The drug peddlers indentified as Md Jubair and Md Imran. Both of them hail from Cox’s Bazar district under Teknaf thana, sources said. The confessed their involvement in drug trafficking in Chittagong caring from Teknaf border belt areas since long; A case under narcotics act has been lodged with the Bakalia thana, sources said.
UNB from Chittagong reports: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested a man along with 40,000 Yaba tablets from Katakhali Purbapara area in Teknaf upazila in Cox’s Bazar yesterday.
The arrestee was identified as Md Abul Hashem, 35.
Mimtanur Rahman, senior assistant director (media) of Rab-7, said on secret information, a team of Rab conducted the drive in a house owned by Mia Hossain and arrested Hashem.
The team recovered the Yaba tablets worth Tk 1.99 crore searching a room of the house.
Another report adds: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested an alleged drug peddler along with some 50,000 pieces contraband Yaba tablets from Sitakunda upazila of Chittagong district on Friday.
The arrestee was identified as Harunur Rashid, 43, a resident of Laxmipur district.
Sources at the RAB said based on secret information, an operational team of the elite force set up a check post at Uttar Bazar in Sitakunda municipality on Dhaka-Chittagong Highway around 11:30 am.
The RAB personnel challenged a Dhaka-bound covered van when the vehicle was crossing the check post.
Sensing presence of the law enforcers, Harunur Rashid, who was inside the van, tried to flee the scene.
However, RAB men managed to arrest him.
Searching the covered van, the law enforcers recovered the consignment of Yaba pills.
