Christian Commission Development in Bangladesh-CCDB and HarvestPlus-Bangladesh arranged Zinc Rice Field Day at Nihanda under Shibalaya Upazial in Manikganj yesterday. Shibalaya Farmers Group assisted the programme.
Shibalaya Upazila Chairman Mohammad Ali Akbar was present as Chief Guest. Shibalaya Upazila Farmer’s Group Managing Director Md. Amzad Hossain chaired the function where Shibalaya UNO AKM Galiv Khan, District Seed Certified Officer Md. Monjur Alam Khan, Upazila Agriculture Officer Md. Anowar Hossain, UHFPO Dr. K M Tariq, Upazila life stock Officer Dr. Md. Shahnewas, HarvestPlus Representative Atik Alam, CCDB Area Manager Debasis Kumar Dey was present as special guests. The speakers said we should have zinc rice to cover our need of zinc which is very essential for our body and health.
More than 300 farmers, GO-NGO representatives, students, Teachers and local elites saw the production of Zinc Rice and knew the qualities and importance of it.
