Zimbabwe A team were trailing by 167 runs with four wickets in hand against Bangladesh A in the first innings on the second day of their 2nd four-day match at Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah on Tuesday.
Replying to Bangladesh’s score of 258 runs, visiting Zimbabwe finished the second day on 91 runs for 6 in 24 overs.
Brian Chari and Wellington Masakadza were on batting with 39 and 4 runs respectively while Mark Vermeulen (31) was the other notable scorer for Zimbabwe.
Zubair Hossain captured three wickets for 40 runs in five overs while Shahadat Hossain took two wickets for 15 runs.
Earlier, Bangladesh resumed the first innings with their overnight total of 88 for no lose and were all out for 258 in 96 overs.
Opener Shahriar Nafees scored team highest 97 runs off 140 balls with 14 fours and a six while another opening batsman Sadman Islam made 60 runs from 176 balls featuring 10 fours.
Marshal Ayub (27), Nurul Hasan (17), Kamrul Islam (15) and Md Mithun (14) were the other double-digit scorers for Bangladesh.
