Rapid Action Battalion Additional Director General (Operation) Colonel Ziaul Ahsan has been promoted to the rank of Brigadier General and appointed Director of the National Security Intelligence (NSI).
The elite force RAB’s Legal and Media Wing Director Mufti Mahmud Khan confirmed the matter on Thursday.
RAB-11 Commanding Officer (CO) Lieutenant Colonel Anwar Latif Khan has been made the Additional Director General of the elite force, Mufti Mahmud said.
Ziaul Ahsan has already left the elite force office, he said. The new NSI Director has expressed the grateful to the RAB personnel for outstanding support and cooperation.
Ziaul Ahsan joined RAB-2 as a Deputy Commanding Officer in 2009 and then as Director of Intelligence Unit of RAB Headquarters in 2010 after promotion as Lieutenant Colonel from Major.
The Army personnel was made Additional DG of RAB (Operation) after promotion as Colonel from Lieutenant Colonel in 2013.
