Noted actor and freedom fighter Ziaul Hasan Kislu has completed 30 years of his teaching profession recently. He was attached with acting before joined as a teacher. He started his theatre attachment with Theatre 73. He was general secretary of this group in 1973. Under his direction Zia Haider’s a play titled Eleybeley was staged at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in Dhaka at National Theatre Festival in 1978.
In 1978, he also started his acting career in TV play by Abdullah Al Mamun’s Folafol Nimnochap, which script was written by Momtazuddin Ahmed. Later he acted in many plays.
In 1982, Kislu started to work with Nagorik Natya Shompradoy. By this group, he performed in plays Achalayoton, Dewan Gazir Kichchha and Nuruldin-er Sarajibon.
In last Eid, Kislu’s acted three plays – Chayanika Chowdhury’s Shunnyotai Tumi, Himel Ashraf’s Antorjal and Noim Imtiaz Neyamul’s Lamppost were aired in different channels.
Now Ziaul Hasan Kislu has been working as Chairman of Bangla Department at Tolaram College in Narayanganj.
Besides teaching, he is also giving training on acting at Ramendu Mazumder and Dr Enamul Haque’s Theatre School. Under the direction of Hridy Haque he recently acted in a drama serial titled Sayanho, which will be telecast in any satellite channel soon, Kislu said.
