Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq said Ziaur Rahman’s involvement in the killing of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman along with most of his family members, is true as daylight.
“God willing, we would present all the evidence to prove Ziaur Rahman’s involvement in the crime, before the commission, which would be formed to identify the perpetrators behind the killing,” he said.
The minister said these on Thursday while talking to newsmen at his Gulshan residence.
Anisul said the present government is determined to bring all the fugitive convicts of Bangabandhu murder trial and make them to face justice.
“As long as even one fugitive killer is roaming outside, our efforts to bring them back would continue. The process is going on to bring them back. This process would get hampered if I reveal anything more about this. But I can tell you that there is no laxity from the government’s side about this,” he added.
While talking about forming a commission to identify the perpetrators behind Bangabandhu killing, the law minister said from the evidences of the trial and discussions regarding the barbaric murder, it is clear that there are more people other than those killers, involved in the killing.
“There was a plot. We have to identify those plotters and unmask them before the nation. We have had talks with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina about the process to identify plotters and decided to form a commission. But before we could form the commission, the coronavirus pandemic attacked the country. As soon as the pandemic goes away, people of the country would be able to learn about the framework, works and possible members of this commission,” Anisul further said.
