UNB, Dhaka :
Observing that BNP’s many current activities do not match with its founder, Ziaur Rahman’s younger brother Ahmed Kamal on Saturday announced to float a new political party.
Talking to reporters after a discussion at the city’s Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh, Kamal said, “I’ll surely form a political party, and I have been here with this intention.”
Replying to a question as to when he will form his party, Kamal said, “I’ll invite you during its launching.”
Earlier, he spoke at the discussion titled ‘Shaheed Zia’s Ideology and
Restoration of Endangered Democracy’ arranged by Shaheed Zia O Jatiyatabadi Adarsha Bastabayan Parishad.
In his written speech, Kamal said, “I couldn’t, but say something about BNP’s current fragile condition. I feel bad when I see that the present BNP’s many activities don’t go with the ideals and principles of my brother Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.”
He observed that a vested anti-liberation quarter is misguiding his sister-in-law and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and prompting her to take wrong decisions. “They (the quarter) want to keep the chairperson (Khaleda Zia) in the dark by giving her with wrong suggestions and information.”
Kamal said, it was Khaleda’s wrong step to initiate a debate on the number of the Liberation War martyrs. “I think Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Liberation War proclimaer Ziaur Rahman should be kept above controversies. All political parties should come out of foul politics and the politics of mudslinging,” he said.
