Zia’s birth anniv tommorrow

BNP has chalked out a two-day programme to observe the 83rd birth anniversary of its founder Ziaur Rahman on Saturday. BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the programme at a press conference at the party’s Nayapaltan Central office on Thursday.
The programmes include placing wreaths at the party president’s grave, holding discussion and
publishing special supplements in newspapers. Born on January 19, 1936, at Bagbari in Bogura, Ziaur Rahman founded the party in 1978 and became the country’s seventh president.
As part of the birth anniversary programme, BNP will arrange a discussion at the Supreme Court Bar Association auditorium on Friday. Besides, party flag will be hosted a top of all BNP offices across the country on Saturday.
BNP senior leaders, together with party leaders and activists, will place wreaths at Zia’s grave on Saturday around 10 am on the occasion.
BNP’s associate body and the party’s district, city, upazila and thana units will observe the birth anniversary amid various programmes.
