Zia undermined spirit of Liberation War: Ershad

Chairman of the Jatiya Party and former President Hossain Md. Ershad said Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman undermined the spirit of the liberation war of Bangladesh and the Begum Zia after advancing one step hands over national flag to the anti-liberation forces keeping them in her cabinet.
He disclosed it w hile addressing the huge public meeting arranged at Laldighi maidan in city yesterday evening. He said there are no democracy in the country and country lacks of good governance. He said the incidents of abduction, murders and the terrorist activities are continuing unabated.
The former president said if the Jatiya party came into power, the country will be survived with good governance and terrorist free New Bangladesh. He called to vote for Jatiya party in next election to make the country free from violence, anarchy and terrorism. He also reiterated the hospitality of the people of Chittagong to him in earlier and said he came Chittagong many times during Jatiya party regime and I get warm reception and today they did not forget me.
JP president Ershad address the huge attended rally for only 10 minutes. The formal meeting of the Ershad’s rally begin from 3 pm at laldighi with city convenor of JP Mahjabeen Morshed MP. Among others, Water resources Minister Anisul Islam Mahmood MP, party General Secretary Ziauddin Ahmed bablu, presidium member Salma Islam and MA Hannan spoke on the occasion. Jatiya Party sources said HE Ershad address the Chittagong rally after 16 years.
He attended the last JP rally at laldighi maidan in 1998 after his release from jail in 1997, sources said.
