Zia takes solo lead after 6th round in KIIT Chess Festival

GM Ziaur Rahman Zia now took solo lead in the points table with 5.5 points after 6th round games in 10th KIIT International Chess Festival now being held at Bhubaneswar in Odisha, India.
The 6th round games were held on Monday evening. Zia won against IM Sayantan Das of India in the game. GM Reefat Bin Sattar, who is playing International chess event after three years break, sharing the second position with five points along with other 11 players.
In 6th round games, GM Reefat drew with Sidhant Mohapatra of India. After 6th round games FM Mohammad Fahad Rahman earned 4 points, GM Niaz Murshed and FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman Emon earned 3.5 points each, Anisuzzaman Jewel earned 3 points, Mohammad Sherajul Kabir, M Jamal Uddin and Mezanur Rahman earned 2 points each, Shahnaz Mohammad Farque, Sadnan Hasan Dihan and Manon Reja Neer earned 1.5 points each, M Raju Ahmed and Kaumudi Nargis earned one point each and Mohammad Hasan earned 0.5 point.
In 6th round games, FM Fahad drew with IM Raghunandan Kaumandur Srihari of India, GM Niaz lost to Aditya Mittal of India, FM Emon lost to Mahindrakar Indrajeet of India, Jewel drew with Shahil Dey of India, Mezan lost to Pranavananda of India, Jamal lost to Phuyal Aashish of Nepal, Shahnaz lost to Swarnava Biswas of India, Sheraj drew with Falgun D Purohit of India, Neer lost to Sounak De of India, Dihan drew with Dhrupad Kashyap of India, Nargis lost to Ithal Rajath of India, Raju lost to Rout Yashita of India and Hasan drew with Ghelani Dhairya of India.
