GM Ziaur Rahman beat 2621 rated GM Nguyen Ngoc Truong of Vietnam and again shared the lead along with other six players in the 5th round games in the Open Section of the Asian Continental Chess Championships now being held in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.
In the 5th round game held Monday, Zia played with black pieces used Queen’s Gambit Declined game, Zia played excellent end game and won after 64 moves.
He secured four points after 5th round and sharing lead in the points table along with other 6 players.
In the women’s section, WFM Nazrana Khan Eva split points with WIM Gu Tian Lu of China. Eva earned two points out of 5 games.
