GM Ziaur Rahman Zia finished 27th with 6.5 points in the IILF third International Mumbai Chess tournament held in Mumbai, said a Bangladesh Chess Federation press release.
IM Abu Sufian Shakil became 71st with 5.5 points, M Abul Kashem became 217th with 4 points while M Masum Rahi finished 280th with 2.5 points.
In the ninth or last round games were held on Sunday last, Zia shared points with IM Sidhant Mohapatra of India, IM Shakil drew with Balkishan of India, Kashem beat Arjun Sidharth of India and Masum Rahi split point with Rajalakshmi Vishwanathan of India.
GM Maghsoodloo Parhan of Iran emerged champion with 8 points.
A total of 315 players including 18 grandmasters, two women grandmasters, 20 International Masters and six women International Masters participated in the event.
