Zia, Fahad earns 2 points in Malaysian Chess

GM Ziaur Rahman and FM Mohammad Fahad Rahman earned 2 points each after 3rd round games of the Dato Arthur Tan International Open Chess Championship 2017 of 14th Malaysia Chess Festival is now being held at Kuala Lumpur.
The event began on Monday. The 2nd and 3rd round games were held on Tuesday.
In 2nd round GM Zia lost to FM Dang Hoang Vietnam and FM Fahad beat Cheah Kah Hoe of Malaysia.
In 3rd round GM Zia beat WIM San Diego Marie Antoinette of Philippines and FM Fahad beat Supriya
Joshi of India while yesterday in first round game GM Zia beat Kavinda Akila of Sri Lanka.
A total of 172 players from 17 countries including 20 grandmasters, 5 women garndmasters and 23 International Maters are participating in the event.
In another chess meet, Mohammad Amir Ali Rana and Tahsin Tajwar Zia earned 2.5 points each and sharing 2nd position along with other 7 players in rating event 12th GOLDIS Malaysia Chess Challenge.
A total of 205 players from 14 countries are participating in GOLDIS Malaysia Chess Challenge event.
