Many singers, music directors and instrumental artistes often complain that despite having melodious voice popular singer of present generation Zanita Ahmed Zhilik’s vocal yet not utilised properly. Many senior artistes say the Serakontho famed Zhilik has practiced voice. Last year during corona pandemic, legendary singer of the Subcontinent Runa Laila appreciated her voice. Recently released Zhilik and Yousuf rendered a song titled Aamar Mone is also receiving appreciation from the music-lovers. Shakhawat Hossain Maruf wrote lyrics of the song while singer Yousuf Ahmed Khan composed its tune and music. In last Father’s Day, a song titled ‘Baba Tumi,’ which lyrics were written by Jamal Hossain and music was composed by Ibrar Tipu, was released where Zhilik’s emotional voice attracted the listeners’ attention. Zhilik informed that she has already finished works of several numbers of new songs which will be released soon. These are: Bhalobasar Bodole, which lyrics were written by Baizid Khoorshid Riaz and music was composed by Milton Khondokar; Khule Rekhechhi Ami, which lyrics were written by Jamal Hossain and tunes were composed by Khaled Munna; Jani Amake Keu Eka Kore, which lyrics were written by Razia Sultana and music was composed by Binod; a film song composed by Plabon Koreshi, a song for which lyrics were written by Sohel and music was composed by Manam Ahmed.
Somebody related to music says Zhilik’s voice would be utilised properly but the singer is satisfied with her present position. While talking in this regard Zhilik said, “Alhamdulillah, as a singer, I am very much satisfied with my present position in the field of music. I am happy what Allah gave me. Big think is that listeners like my songs and they are expressing their loves – it is delightful matter for me. Respected Runa Laila Madam appreciated my rendering style and voice. It was a great achievement for my musical career. In one life, it is surely a great achievement. She prayed for me as I can render well in future. It is inspiration to me as a singer. I never become frustrated. I believe I will render good songs in the long run.”
It is noted that Zhilik performed song on NTV on September 4 on the occasion of birthday of noted singer Sabina Yasmin.
