“Reactionary forces are out to create unstable situation in the society by provoking people. Stern action would be taken against those who would hinder security of life and properties of the people and create law and order situation,” he said.
The DIG said this at a views-sharing meeting with local journalists held at Police Community Hall in the city.
Additional DIG for Rangpur Range Abdul Majid, Superintendent of Police of Rangpur Mizanur Rahman, Additional Superintendents of Police Abu Maruf Hossain, Fazle Elahi (Special Branch) and Saifur Rahman Saif (A Circle) were present.
The DIG said police would do whatever they need to eliminate drug trading and drug addiction from the society.
He said, “Police must behave in a proper manner when any victim or justice seeker goes to police stations.”
The DIG said, “There are many incidents which can be resolved without filing any case. In such matters, police will talk to victims or stakeholders and take initiative to resolve those.”
He called upon the journalists to remain aware of filing reports those might create fear in the public mind or destabilize the society.
