Shantinagar Club observed the 100th birth anniversary of Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin at the White House Hotel in the city recently.
Marking the birth anniversary of Great Teacher of Arts, a discussion meeting, cultural function and painting competition for children were held at the same venue.
Professor Emeritus of Dhaka University Dr Anisuzzaman spoke at the discussion meeting and distributed prizes as the chief guest while Jahanara Abedin, wife of late Zainul Abedin was with him as the special guest.
President of Shantinagar Club and noted sports personality Mozaffar Hossain Paltu presided over the discussion meeting.
Former member of Bangladesh National Parliament Monirul Islam Moni, cultural personality Keramat Moula, Riaz Uddin Ahmed Manu, Altafuddoula Ranu, Fazle Elahi Badol, General Secretary of Shantinagar Club Syed Ali Afsar, Jahirul Islam Rumi, Enamul Haque Abul, Sheikh Jamil were present, among others.
