Zahidur Rahman Biplob’s short film Omar Faruk’s mother has been nominated for the government funding film in the year of 2017-2018. The film, Mother of Omar Faruk, is based on the shadow of a true story of liberation war of Bangladesh.
The story has been evolved on the life of a freedom fighter, Omar Faruk and his mother, who were lived in Nesarabad, Swarupkathi of Pirojpur.
Around 47 years have been passed, but the Omar Faruk’s mother’s time is still stand in one point, where she is waiting for her son every day, the wave of Kirton Khola have changed with the discourse of time, but the long-felt wait of the mother is not finished still now! Mother is still preparing rice for her beloved son for thrice every single day, she is always open the front door of her housein every single night as if Omar Faruk will come back again and asked her for ‘rice’; she still believes strongly that her son will come back!
The preproduction work is going on. The list of artists and craftsmen will be finalizewith in a short time. Hopefully, shooting schedule will be started in mid-September, according to our plan.It is to be noted that the schedule date may change if it is required for any special cases.
Though it is the story of Pirojpur, we have selected most of locations there and some places in Barisal. The director said, “It was a nice and fruitful experience to visit the location for the first time prior to start our movie Omar Faruker Maa. The collected story is screenplay written by National Film Award-winning writer and screenwriter Masum Reza.”
The film’s main story, ideas, screenplay, direction, camera operation and cinematography all these and credit goes to the director Zahidur Rahman Biplob. The pre-production of the film will be started soon, informed the director.
