Gonoswasthya Kendra founder Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury, accused of committing contempt of court, yesterday sought unconditional apology before the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2.
The second tribunal on July 12 issued a notice upon Zafrullah asking him to explain as to why the court shall not punished him for committing contempt of court.
The tribunal passed that order, accepting a contempt plea brought against him by fellow freedom fighters Manoranjan
Ghoshal, Ali Asgar, Nazrul Islam and Gonojagoron Manch organizer Kamal Pasha Chowdhury and FM Shahin. Sayeed Ahmed Raza, counsel for Zafrullah, submitted the petition yesterday seeking mercy from the court. Justice Obaidul Hassan, chairman of the three-member panel of the ICT-2 set today to hold hearing on the matter. It is the third time that Zafrullah is facing the same charge at the court.
