State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak urged the youths to move forward with innovative ideas and projects for building a digital Bangladesh.
“Youths have to come up with innovative ideas and projects to quicken the honorable Prime Minister’s plan to make Bangladesh a technology and knowledge centric country,” he said this on Thursday while addressing as the chief guest a programme titled “Student to Start-Up competition, BUET round” at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
Leading youth platform ‘Young Bangla’ and ‘Innovation Design and Entrepreneurship Academy (IDEA) project’ under ICT Division arranged the two-day competition to find young entrepreneurs having innovative ideas so they can contribute to the country’s development.
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina always advocates necessary allocation for conducting time-befitting researches and studies, and emphasizes tapping potentiality of technology based Bangladesh,” the state minister added.
With the slogan of ‘My innovation, My Dream’, the Young Bangla, under the auspices of Centre for Research and Information (CRI) is supervising the competition.
Addressing the programme, BUET Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr. Saiful Islam emphasised the need for undertaking collaborative work and research activities for achieving a sustainable development economy.
Later, a workshop took place with participation of a number of teams of specialists of technology and young entrepreneurship.
