Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Saturday said, young generation is the asset of the nation. So, they should be built as competent workforce to boost economic development in the country.
“Today’s youths will lead the nation in future. They must fulfill hopes and aspiration of people developing themselves as good human beings,” said the minister at a freshers’ reception at Dhaka College.
Acting Secretary of Technical and Madrasa Division Md Alamgir and Director General of Directorate of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Professor SM Wadizzaman, among others, addressed the function. Principal of Dhaka College Professor Md Moazzem Hossain Mollah presided over the function.
Nurul Islam Nahid said, there is no scope but ensuring quality education at all levels. It is gradually increasing after the government has implemented massive programmes in the past eight years.
“We are offering special facilities for meritorious teachers to improve quality of education. As teachers are the builders, we are recruiting brilliant candidates in the teaching profession,” he added.
The minister said, “You (students) will have to prepare yourselves as world citizens so that you can lead the world. We will provide all the possible helps to do that. But you have to concentrate first in study.”
