Effective and responsible role of the youths has become crucial to forge social resistance against all sorts of abuses of drugs along with its illicit trades and trafficking.
Besides, integrated efforts of all government and non-government organizations concerned can be the vital means of freeing the society from the detrimental impacts of drug abuse, reports BSS.
There is no way but to make all the existing movements related to prevent drug abuse fruitful to protect the young generation from further degradation.
The observations came recently at a youth brigade gathering on peer education for the youth members at Hotel Warisan in Rajshahi.
Four development organizations – Light House Consortium, Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM), Ashakta Punarbashan Sangstha (APOSH) and Nari O Shishu KalyanSociety – jointly organized the event under Drug Abuse Resistance and Understanding-DARAU project aimed at sensitizing the young generation towards forging social resistance against drug abuses.
More than 100 people, including 70 youths both boys and girls, joined the programme discussing and devising ways and means on how to free the society from drug abuse.
