Over 30,000 youths in six upazilas of the district received self-reliant training and loan from the Department of Youth Development during the last 20 years.
Deputy Director, Department of Youth Development (DYD) Narsingdi Delwar Hossain told BSS that the department during past twenty years imparted institutional and non-institutional training to 44, 317 youths (both male and female) on different trade in the district.
The training course includes dress making, block-batik printing, pisciculture, dairy and poultry farming, Computer course, electronics, electrical and house wiring, refrigeration and air condition plumbing, cow fattening, nursery and agriculture training.
The Deputy Director also said, the local DYD office so far provided essay term loan of Taka 21,41,53,600 (revolving fund) to 28, 400 trained youths for different income generation projects.
He said over 30, 000 youths (both male and female) are now self-reliant by taking different projects and servicing in foreign countries by the massive role of Department of Youth Development and their monthly income are now over Taka 50, 000 to Taka 100, 000.
