An unidentified youths demanded ransom from two female students confining them at Rajshahi University (RU) campus on Friday evening.
According to the sources, the two female students of Rajshahi New Government College had come at RU campus on Friday evening to meet their friends. At that time, a group of unidentified youths confined them behind Begum Rokeya hall and demanded ransom from them. Between the two female students, one was freed after taking Tk 1,000 but another was confined there as she did not provide demanded ransom. Later, being informed, the university police rushed to the spot and rescued the girls.
While contacted, officer in charge of Motihar police station Mahbub Alam confirmed the matter and said that they rescued the two female girls from there. but no case was filed in this regard, added the OC.
