Police recovered the body of a young man from a septic tank at Betura Varadnagi village in Biral upazila on Saturday noon.
The deceased was identified as Rubel, 22, son of Anwar Ali of Betura Pukurpar area in the upazila.
ATM Golam Rasul, officer-in-charge of Biral Police Station said locals spotted the body in a septic tank at Ashraf Ali’s house in the village and informed the police.
On information, police recovered the body with ropes on its neck and sent to M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
An unnatural death case was filed with the police station. Necessary legal steps would be taken after gaining autopsy report, the OC added.
