Police recovered five pieces of a youth’s body from a house in KM Das Lan of Dhaka’s Tikatuli area on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Sajib Hasan, 32.
Police arrested a woman named Shahnaz Parvin, 50, in this connection.
Wari Police Station Sub-Inspector Torbul Hasan said the body parts were recovered from the bathroom of a house at KM Das Lane around 2pm. A sharp weapon used in the murder was also recovered from the spot.
Initially, it seemed the murder was committed over extra-marital affairs, he said.
The official also said that Shahnaz’s husband Jasim filed a GD in Wari police station about his wife missing. So we are investigating the matter. At one point we found the location of the Shahnaz.
Then police rushed there to rescue her, but when they entered the room found youth’s several body parts into five pieces, he added.
During primary interrogation, Shanaz admitted that she had committed such crime to save her family.
Meanwhile, the house owner’s daughter Nargis and her sister Sumaiya told The New Nation that Sajib and Sahnaz rented the room identifying themselves as husband and wife five years ago. They know that Sajib worked in Shamoly bus counter.
Sahnaj did not live at night. She used to go there in day light and refrained from mixing with neighbors. When police asked her what was her professions, she told police that she had been working at police’s CID department, they added.
