A Dhaka court yesterday (Tuesday) placed a youth on a three-day remand in a case filed in connection with the suicide of a schoolgirl on Saturday.
Dhaka’s Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court Magistrate
Snigdha Rani Chakra-borty passed the order after Khilgaon Police Station SI and Investigation Officer (IO) of the case Shahjahan produced accused Sheikh Mohammad Newaj Ibne Akram alias Jiad, 22, to the court with a 10-day remand plea.
Umme Kulsum Ritu, a 9th grade student of Khilgaon East Point School and College, committed suicide on Saturday by taking poison at her Nandipara residence of the city. Ritu’s mother Sathi Begum filed the case with Khilgaon Police Station against five persons.
