A young man was stabbed to death by rivals at Kanishail area of the city on Sunday evening.
The deceased was identified as Islam Uddin, 35, son of Tota Miah, a resident of Shamimabad area of the city.
Sources said local young man Jamal Ahmmed beat Islam’s younger brother Arman over a money related issue on Saturday night. Islam protested the incident.
Later, Jamal called Islam to his house at Kanshail on Sunday evening around 6:30pm offering to settle the issue.
Jamal along with his men stabbed Islam there which left him dead on the spot.
Suhel Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, said Islam might have been killed over establishing supremacy in the area.
