A youth was stabbed to death allegedly by a tea seller following an altercation at Lalkuthi in the city’s Darus Salam area on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Shaheen, 19, a pick-up van driver and son of Siddiqur Rahman, a resident of the area.
Police said, Shaheen locked into an altercation with Tutul, a tea seller of Gabtoli bus stand area, over a trifling matter at around 12:30 pm.
At one stage, Tutul hit Shaheen with a sharp weapon, leaving him critically injured.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead around 1:25 pm.
