A youth was stabbed to death allegedly by rivals at port city’s MES College area on Monday. The deceased is Jakir Hossain Sunny, 19, resident of South Khulshi of the city. He was a college student. Police sources said Sunny was a follower of MES College BCL leader Mohammed Wasim.
Paritran Talukdar, an assistant commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police, said 10 to 12 youths beat up Sunny in front of MES college around 3pm.
They stabbed him in the legs, leaving him critically injured. On-duty doctors of Chattogram Medical College Hospital declared him dead after he was rushed there, he said. Police said they identified the attackers and were trying to arrest them. Sunny’s body was sent to CMCH morgue for autopsy.
