A man was shot and injured in police firing during a clash between police and pro-hartal activists at Sabujbag in the city on Monday. The injured was identified as Jonny. Witnesses said when hartal supporters reached Madertek Bazar with a procession police obstructed them, triggering a chase and counter-chase. Police fired bullets and tear gas shells to disperse them, leaving Jonny injured. Police arrested six pickets from the spot. – UNB, Dhaka.
